LATEST TRANSFER RUMORS

This Is Futbol blogger Mark Greenwood has come up with five La Liga players United should look to sign – three from Real Madrid and two from Valencia. He's not claiming the Reds have made any approaches for the quintet, he just thinks they'd fit the bill at OT. Three have appeared in this blog already: David Silva, Karim Benzema and Lassana Diarra. But he's thrown two lesser-known players into the mix: Real midfielder Esteban Granero and Valencia defender Alexis (not to be confused with Sanchez). If you've seen either of these in action in Spain this season, tell us how you rate them onTalking Reds, preferably in the style of Guillem Balague.

Spanish daily AS claims Real Madrid will beat United to the signature of Argentina winger Angel di Maria before the World Cup. Sir Alex reportedly wanted the Benfica man as a long-term replacement for Ryan Giggs – the Daily Mail had said we'd offer £10million plus Anderson

Goal.com have been doing their own round-up of the players linked with a move to OT, and speculating as to which players are most likely. Aside from the problematic statement that "a bid for Everton's Jack Rodwell can't be discounted" (I think it probably can now he's signed a new deal), they tip Sir Alex to swoop for the following: goalkeepers – Hugo Lloris (Lyon) orManuel Neuer (Schalke); defenders – Dodo (Corinthians); midfielders – Joe Cole (Chelsea) or Yaya Toure (Barcelona); forwards – Karim Benzema(Real Madrid). Phew.
